URBAN FARMER

The Urban High Rise Farmer service is the fruit of Jimmy's fertile mind. Being an urban farmer doesn't involve hot-house cultivation or state-of-the-art technologies. An urban farmer creates vegetable and flower gardens in urban environments which have little or no grass or plant life, including high-rise apartments and housing estates. This service is the first of its kind in Ireland.

Jimmy began his urban-farmer experiment with a vertical flower garden in a granite-terraced garden in Greystones, Co Wicklow. The experiment was a success, so Jimmy turned his attention to vegetables. He realised that growing vegetables would help urban dwellers contribute to nurturing the environment and to making a contribution to household budgets. Jimmy created a new model for his Vegetable Gardens, which have also flourished. Now Urban Farmer creates vertical Vegetable and Flower gardens, together with unique hand-crafted Garden furniture, such as Gazebos and Pagoda style houses.
